When I woke up this morning my Dad made me French Toast…score! Then we went to the mall to buy a gift for my baby cousin’s 2nd Birthday.
What do you buy for a two year old, when he already has so many too many toys and clothes? BOOKS!
Our first stop was target, my Mom and I made our way to the book section…my favorite part of any store…and proceeded to look at the children’s books.
There are so many ‘Frozen’ children’s books. I knew the movie was popular but I hadn’t realized it had hit that level of popularity.
After getting past all of those, we made it to the classic children’s books! The Nostalgia!
- Paddington Bear
- Dr. Seuss books
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar
- If You Give A Mouse A Cookie
- Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
What really made my day though was seeing the collections of Shel Silverstein poems and books! I looked at my mom and was like “Can you buy these for me? Pretty please! They’re the 40 year anniversary editions with 12 new poems!” Alas they were 19.99 each and we just didn’t have the money. Maybe next time!
Something that irked me though was that “Goodnight Moon” was no where to be found. How can they not carry that book? It’s timeless.
Seeing all these books made me really happy and made me think about all the books I read as a kid and how when it comes time for me to have kids, they will have all these books in their room.
What books did you grow up on? Before Harry Potter of course. What are your favorite picture books? Favorite memories of story time?
Let me know!
