Unsettled |Release the Restraints Wednesday

Welcome to the first edition of Release the Restraints Wednesday! I’m really excited and I hope you are too! This day is dedicated to creative writing, whether that be in the form of poetry or short stories. With that said, I recently wrote a poem called Unsettled and I’m really excited for everyone to read it.

Here it is!

Please leave feedback and suggestions in the comment section. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  1. Brilliant.. Great way to view it. Very helpful for others to see it this way, I am sure.. Unsettled, hyper vigilant.. It all serves a function, just we should harness it to secure our peace of mind and safety, not destroy it..

If it’s any consolation, I check things too, but having 3 kids, there is only so much I can check and only so much energy left to check it all..

Are the doors locked, check, are there covers on, check, did I brush my teeth, check, can I get up in the morning and make them smile, check… The rest is taken for granted…

    1. Thank you! It’s good to know I’m not alone. My parents check on things too, but I discovered that there’s a difference between how they check things and how I check things. 🙂 You sounds like a great parent. ~K.D.
