Shy Girl’s 2016 Resolutions, A Week Late

Hello fellow adventurers,

Resolution –  a firm decision to do or not to do something or the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter.

In the past, I’ve made very typical resolutions for the New Year. I’ve resolved to lose weight, to cut back on soda, and to read more. This year will be different.

2016 offers a unique opportunity, a chance to really examine who I am and grow. My 2015 was full of highs and extreme lows and through it all I’ve learned so much about myself and others. Here are my resolutions:

Confidence. In 2016, I will learn to be and act more confident. I will force myself to remember that everyone has flaws and that that puts us on a leveled playing field.

Understanding. I resolve to understand that no one will ever know what it’s like to be me, and that I will never know what it’s like to be them. I will work on understanding that caring about/for someone with anxiety is almost as difficult as having the anxiety yourself.

School. This upcoming semester is going to be incredibly difficult. I must stay committed to learning and not get discouraged.

Friends. I resolve: to be there for my friends as they have been there for me; to cut out those that are toxic and undeserving of my love; and to warn those closest to me before I go into hibernation for days/weeks at a time.

…and of course I also want to lose weight. 😉

Until next time,
